I went out to Marron Valley (MV), on two days, 1/11 and 1/13/2026. The first day was super windy, gusts over 25mph and the drone wasn’t logged in so I had the wind and flight limitations that prevented me from getting anything worthwhile.
I observed from a ridge that overlooked the most eastern part of the valley as hits the base of Mt. Kuchamaa. Then I drove down to the grasslands, parked and walked an area that seemed to be created by the military when they installed all of the razor wire. The grass and bushes were flattened in this area and in a line from the grasslands all the way parallel to the border to monument 249, which was too the west. Behind me in that area was Mt. 248.
As I walked along the man-made path I also noticed that military folk built footbridges along the way, either out of flattened branches from trees or bushes or by imported lumber, 4×4’s mostly. And some were strapped together to form a strong platform.
Whomever did the install also left behind extra supplies such as metal fence posts, and rolls of concertina wire.
1/13/2026 couldn’t have been more perfect for flying or being outside. I was able to fly and with the drone I found that the wire terminated somewhere east of monument 248. From the air it was hard to keep a track of the wire as it zig zags from east to west in the valley, and the canopy’s hide the wire in many areas of the valley.
Below is the a screenshot of the drone flight path coupled with the planned location of the border wall in red (from the CBP map).
